New breeding station ‘La Marina’ officially opened

On wednesday June 8, a new breeding station of Rijk Zwaan in Spain has been officially opened. This station, located in Murcia, is called La Marina and focuses on the development of outdoor crops.


A short opening ceremony was attended by the general director of  the Regional Ministry of Murcia and the management of Rijk Zwaan from the Netherlands. R&D director Kees Reinink explained the great importance of this new facility: “Spain is the largest vegetable producing country in Europe and a key market for the sales of our vegetable seeds. With a new office and a high-tech greenhouse in Murcia, we can even further improve the development of high quality vegetable varieties.”
